RED Entertainment and E-networks Inc. have started an exciting collaboration to produce Guyana’s greatest televised talent competition, ‘The Spotlight’. This competition will open doors for talented Guyanese across the nation to showcase their talents, whether it be dancing, singing, playing an instrument, comedy or acrobatics.

All types of performances by persons of all ages have auditioned for a grand cash prize of $2,500,000. After 100+ Guyanese auditioned in July, The Spotlight judges have chosen the Final 15 contestants. These individuals and groups were announced at the Media Launch, which took place on Tuesday, September 13th from 5:00PM at the ENetworks Giftland Mall Branch.

In addition to the Final 15 individuals and groups, the three Wild Card Contestants were announced (Rogeria Michael, Conor Holder and Jamal La Rose). These Wild Card Contestants will be competing on September 27th after being coached by the judges that chose them as their Wild Card selection (whom are all singers). Alana Seebaran chose Rogeria Michael, Russel Lancaster chose Conor Holder and Christian Sobers chose Jamal La Rose. For this competition, the public will be able to vote via Facebook as the performances will be aired live on the ‘E-Networks – The Spotlight’ Facebook page. During the next two weeks, videos of the judges mentoring the contestants will be released on social media so that the public is engaged during the process.

The first challenge for all contestants (including the Wild Card Contestants) will be staged this Friday, September 16th at the Regent Street parking lot opposite Foot Steps Mega Store from 3:00pm. The challenge is called “Busking on the Streets”, which entails the contestants performing for anyone who is walking by the location. We will involve the public on the judging process and this challenge will be used for a later episode during the The Spotlight Season. The general public is invited to come witness the performances with free admission.
The Spotlight season will premiere on Wednesday, October 5 from 8:00PM on ENetworks Channel 1 and will be aired every Wednesday same, time same place for a total of 10 episodes.
Other channels such as NTN Berbice, RCA Essequibo will be showing The Spotlight episodes as well.
