Guyana Amazon Warriors thank their fans for support

Monday 18th July 2016

The Management, staff, coaches and players of the Guyana Amazon Warriors would like to thank their fans both local and international for their massive demonstration of support during the four games played at Providence Cricket Stadium in the past two weeks.

Some say that the fan support during "home games" act like a 12th player for the local cricket team. The fans both local  that filled the stands to capacity during each of the games were more than that and played a key role in the Guyana Amazon Warriors winning three of the four games - and barely losing the fourth game by a whisker.

As we have said before, we consider Guyana Amazon Warrior T-20 Cricket to be a binding force to bring all Guyanese together as a family. This was demonstrated vividly in the mosaic of our Guyanese family cheering on their team during the home games.

Once again, we thank the extraordinary fans of the Guyana Amazon Warriors and hope your fervent support gives us the momentum to take us all the way this year.

We would also like to thank the Police, Fire Service and Stadium Staff for the yeoman efforts they extended to ensure the logistical challenges to the fans' safety and movement were addressed in such a satisfactory manner.

The Government of Guyana in general, and the Ministries of Tourism, Culture and Sports in particular, also must be thanked for being so supportive of this venture to showcase Guyana and one of its unique cultural products -  AMAZON Warriors Cricket.

Finally we would like to thank the International corps of media workers who allowed the world to see our great country, its wonderfully hospitable people and of course, the Guyana Amazon Warriors.
